Flintlock musket made under contract for the state of Massachusetts with the lock marked” Adam” and the barrel showing L.H. 1826 along with “P” proof and “M” marking for Massachusetts. The musket is full-stocked with brass mountings showing a 39”barrel, 53 ½” overall in approximately .69 caliber smoothbore. Refer U.S. military small arms 1816 to 1865 by Reilly page 13. The musket remains in fair to good condition showing a light gray to brown patina finish with some scattered pittingand erosion. The stock has been broken at the wrist and restored. The lock is an old reconversion to flint using handmade parts. William A. Gary collection consigned by his estate. Est.: $900-$1800
