Flintlock horseman’s pistol converted to percussion. Lock signed Hess a Zweybruken. The pistol measures 17-1/2” overall with 11-3/4” barrel of approx. .60 caliber smooth bore, full stocked to the muzzle, showing key plate inlaid into butt for shoulder stock. The metal surfaces are good to very good with traces of original blue and case hardened finish, scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. There is a loss of wood along oneedge of the forend which extends approx. 1-1/2” by 2mm width. The horn forend cap is missing, the stock is nicely carved and otherwise very good. An original to the period horn tipped ramrod is included. Est:$900 - $1,800
