Flintlock fowler of English origin showing Tower lock, British proofs, brass mounts, approx. .62 caliber smoothbore, full stocked, the gun shows typical British styling. Gun measures 60” overall with 45” barrel. Thestyling is from the period of the early 19th century. The gun shows a good quality reconversion to flint, some light browning, there is some pitting on the lock and barrel but generally good. The stock shows somelosses around the top edge of the lockplate. There are some breaks in the stock, small cracks, a large crack in the forend and some large chips of wood along the top edge. The wood is only fair. The lock is a close fitand possibly period changed. The front sight is a hand-made brass type which has an American look. Est: $700 - $1,400
