Flintlock Eprouvette or powder tester circa 18th century with pistol style grip and butt cap. Also the tester shows a trigger guard and side plate which are lightly engraved. The wheel shows hand engraved decorationswith hand engraved numbers for calibration as to the strength of powder. The metal surfaces show light to moderate pitting. The stock is good with some light refinishing and repairs. Two collection tags are attached to guard and one is #306 of the type used by Frank Bivens. The tester measures 10-3/4” from end to end.
