Flamboyant mexican sword with forged steel guard and hilt, showing mexican eagle with snake guard. The blade measures 25-1/4” and shows a flare to almost 1-1/4”. The blade is fully etched with hunting scenes and showsthe word Oaxaca. The reverse shows the slogan “Morir res nada cuando por la patria se muere” (Dying is nothing at all when for your homeland). The sword is accompanied by embroidered scabbard with fringe and hangar.The overall condition is fine to excellent. The sword would date approx. 1920 to 1950 and is the type made by the Aragon family. Est: $350 - $700
