Manufactured in 1956, the first year of production for the 2nd Generation Single Action Army revolver. One line address on top of the barrel, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" on the left and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the left side of the grip straps under the grip and on the inside of each grip panel. Matching assembly number, (589), on the back of the frame and on the loading gate. Casehardened frame with blue remaining parts, blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top with matching serial number on the inside of each panel. Complete with the original hinged lid black box numbered to the gun.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 97% original blue finish with some light muzzle and high edge wear. The cylinder has a light drag line and some cycling scratches. The frame retains 99% original case colors. The grips are also excellent with only light handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp. The action is excellent. The box is good with two separated corners on the lid as well as some edge separation, some damage from the hammer and some corner wear. The end label is 95% intact.
