Manufactured in 1861, the first year of production. The top barrel flat is marked with the one line New York U.S. America address. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT" and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "36 CAL". The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the letter "S" and the butt is marked with the letter "H". The cylinder has the stagecoach hold-up scene with "COLTS PATENT" above the serial number. Except the un-numbered loading lever all numbers match.

Condition: Very good plus. The revolver has a mottled brown patina with the barrel retaining 30% bright original blue finish. The cylinder retains half of the scene. There is some very scattered light pitting. The grip straps have an aged patina. The grip is fine with a minor chip missing near the bottom and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
