Finely made flintlock rifle with two sets of barrels by master gun-maker S. Alexander. Closely resembling a British flintlock target rifle by Fenton. 48” overall, 32” barrel, half-stocked in approx. .41 caliber withextra 34” barrel of approx. .52 caliber, also rifled. The flintlock shows double-set triggers, finely made half stock, with beautifully carved pistol grip showing lion’s head and scrolls. The lock is alsobeautifully made and signed “Alexander” and it is closely styled after a late English flintlock with water proof pan and roller on the frizzen. The rifle is finely hand-engraved and platinum banded at thebreech, showing beautifully English style engraved mounts with fire blue. The stock is high quality with beautiful grain, fine checkering, and superb carving. The rifle shows some use and is very good plus to nearfine overall, with excellent bores, and has been well cared for. S.
