This is an example of a Biedermann pistol. Biedermann worked in Vienna from 1865 to 1880. The top barrel cluster rib is marked "H. BIEDERMANN'S PATENT". The serial number along with the letter "W" appears on the butt which has a lanyard eyelet. The assembly number "12" is stamped on the underside of the barrel cluster and on the frame under the barrel cluster. The frame has a floral scroll engraved pattern that extends to the grip straps. Blade front sight with a notch rear sight on the standing breech. Fitted with checkered grips. A brass collection tag with a Christies East paper sticker affixed.
