Fine quality percussion double barrel over and under boar hunting carbine signed “Made for Gastinne Renétte of Paris” in French on the locks showing French proofs marks possibly made by Devisme. The carbine measures 40 ½” overall with24 ½” barrels of approximately .70 caliber rifled over 12 gauge smoothbore. The arm remains in original fine to excellent condition showing 85% to 95% original brown on the barrel with most of its original striped pattern. The lock and hammers show 90% plus bright and colorful case hardening. The trigger guard and butt plate also show 50% to 70% bright original color case hardening. The straight grain and light colored walnut stock are very good plus to near fine with a couple of minor scratches and mars. The barrel is mounted with a long-range adjustable ladder rear sight and there is a side mounted ramrod made for seating conical bullets included. A horned gripped original bayonet with scabbard is included and the bayonetand mounts show 75% to 85% original case hardening with a very good leather scabbard and a bright polished near excellent blade.
