Fine quality double-barrel exposed hammer damascus steel barreled antique shotgun by James Dalzeil Dougall, maker to royalty. The gun shows the "Lock Fast" Dougall patented side lever. The gun is 12-bore with 30"barrels and contained within its original luggage case with trade label in lid and gun information for 12-bore #3241 (this exact gun). 3 drams English powder, 1-1/10 oz, #6 shot. Also owner's name Andrew Buckham Delhi, Delaware Co., N.Y. penned on label top. The gun is in fair to good original condition with light pitting, rust and original finish beneath. The forend has had a soft material pad added and the butt shows an old rubberpad. The stock measures 14-1/4" to end of wood. The action locks tight, bores good, wood good. The case is good and contains many antique loading tools. An excellent restoration candidate as this was a qualityarm in its day and shows the 3 feathers of the Prince of Wales appointment engraved at the top of the tang. A great old English double-gun. Est: $750 - $1,500
