Fine. The barrel and magazine have a crisp smooth mottled gray patina with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas. The very fine receiver has a very pleasant mellow aged patina. The loading gate retains 30% niter blue. The wood is fine with a number of moderate scratches on the stock, a few small chips on the upper edges of the forearm and some scattered minor handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. This is a nice Winchester Model 1866 Rifle!
