The German silver barrel is marked "UNWIN & RODGERS/PATENTEES. SHEFFIELD" on the left flat, two British proofs stamped on the upper left flat and marked "NON*XLL" on the right flat . The 3 1/4 inch clip blade is "V[crown]R/UNWIN &/RODGERS/PATENT" on the left ricasso and the left side of the blade is acid etched "SELF/PROTECTOR". The 2 1/4 inch blade is marked "JAMES/RODGERS/SHEFFIELD" on the left ricasso. The knives and pistol are enclosed in a German silver case with smooth horn scales riveted to the sides. It has a folding lid compartment for caps in the back strap. Cocking the hammer opens the breech for loading/unloading with the ears on the extractor acting as a rear sight.

The scales are very fine with a number of light handling marks. The horn has an attractive pattern. The full dimension blade is fine with lightly visible blae etching. Mechanically fine.
