Manufactured in 1871. The top of the barrel is marked "-ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-", the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT" and the left rear trigger guard edge is marked "36 CAL". The cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas/Mexican naval scene as well as "COLTS PATENT NO 630". The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, the wedge is mis-matched, the arbor pin is marked "4630" and the loading lever is un-numbered. Brass cone front and hammer notch rear sights, and fitted with a one-piece smooth ivory grip.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 50% bright original high polish blue finish with some minor pitting and a few dings around the wedge. The remaining metal surfaces have a gray patina with some minor pitting on the cylinder. The brass has an aged patina with traces of original silver in the protected areas of the trigger guard. The grip is very good with a chip on the left toe, several minor age cracks on the left side and bottoms, with a pleasant aged patina overall. The markings are clear. The action functions fine, but is slightly out of time.
