Fine Indian War Spencer Model 1860 Saddle Ring Carbine

Estimate: $1800 - 2750
This is a fine, correct example of one of the 11,000 Spencer carbines overhauled by Springfield Armory circa 1867 to 1874. Springfield Armory re-furbished the carbines, rechambered them for the .50 caliber rimfire cartridge and installed the Stabler cut off to permit the carbine to be used as a single shot. The carbine has a folding leaf rear sight graduated to 900 yards. The top of the receiver markings are only faintly visible, which is common on these altered carbines. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a clear ESA final inspection stamp directly behind the sling bar base.
BBL: 22 inch round

Mechanically excellent.
