This large Colt powder flask measures approximately 8 1/2 inches long. The single face flask has the following raised motif Texas flag, the American flag, the Liberty Cap with military arms including a cannon and mortar above crossed Patterson rifles and crossed Paterson revolvers with flared grips above "COLTS PATENT" in a banner. The charger is the plunger type marked "35 GRS", no provisions for suspension rings and the swivel cover is unmarked. The charger and top are German silver with a lacquered body. Two powder flasks with similar single face motifs are pictured in Robin J. Rapley's book COLT ACCOUTEMENTS 1834-1911 on pages 31 and 32, each going to two different types of long guns.
