The serial number is located on the upper tang, bottom of the barrel and frame. The lever bar is marked "4311". The carbine has no visible inspection proof or acceptance marks. Condition: Fine. The frame retains 40% of the original case colors, mainly on the right side and upper tang, some of the original pattern on the left side and a smooth brown and gray patina on the balance. The leather barrel wrap remains very good with some minor separation of the stitching on the lower rear, caused by cycling the action, otherwise there are scattered minor age cracking, flaking and scuffs. The stock is also fine with some moisture spotting in the varnish and as few minor dings and handling marks. The markings are clear. The mechanics are excellent.
