Manufactured in 1862. The top of the barrel is marked "-ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-", above the wedge is marked "BB", and the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT". The cylinder is roll engraved with the naval battle scene and marked with two "H"s. There is a small "P" behind the trigger guard bow, "C" on top of the back strap and an "H" on the right side bottom of the grip. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the partial number "9000" on the cylinder, wedge and arbor pin. The frame is cut for a shoulder stock, blade front and hammer notch rear sights, brass trigger guard and fitted with a smooth one-piece walnut grip.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The cylinder retains 30% original blue in the protected areas of the rebated section, with a smooth gray patina on the balance, and all of the scene visible and clear. Trigger guard is slightly bent out of shape. The frame retains 60% original case colors mixed with a smooth brown patina. The brass has an aged patina. The grip is very good, absent the cartouche, with a few minor dents overall. The action is fine.
