This is a beautiful example of a late 1937 production, "S/42" Mauser Luger pistol rig. This beautiful example is all original and unaltered. These later 1937 dated Lugers have the new improved all salt blue finish. The Mauser factory switched to this finish as a way to speed up production when they were heavily involved in rearming the German Army. There is a single eagle firing proof also on the barrel extension, barrel and breechblock. It is correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the safety area and extractor respectively. It is complete with two original matching numbered magazines that have the blue, unmarked folded sheet metal steel bodies, with the aluminum bases that are marked "4359/u/Eagle 63" and "4359/u/+/Eagle 63" respectively.
