Falling Skies Season 5 Biomechanical Heart for Espheni Airship Drone Movie Props
Season 5, Episode 3 (00:03 minutes) - The Esphenis, avid adapters of biomechanical technology, call this alien pilot a "Biomechanical Drone Heart." Without him, the Espheni drone is like a dormant Tin Man waiting for his heart. At first glance, the little pilot appears to be no more than a likeable face (the "bio" part) with tubes, chambers and knobs (the "mechanical" part). He has camera lenses for his bug eyes, a sensor for his nose, a photocell for his mouth, and orange lights for cheeks. This little guy sits in the open cockpit of the double-hulled airship drone and provides its heart that pumps fluids into the drone's chambers and allows it to fly. In this particular instance, he flies over a field of swarming Black Hornets near the 2nd Mass encampment, as Dingaan (Treva Etienne) guides his flight via remote control. The mission, as he understands it, is to spray the Black Hornets with a particularly heinous weapon known as "WP" (white phosphorus). In a full-immersion, visually stunning sequence from the vantage point of the drone, the "mechanical drone heart" pilot sits in the cockpit and pumps vital fluids to the airship. He has a front row seat, as the airship drone deftly glides over the valley and crop dusts the swarming Black Hornets with lethal clouds of WP (loaded into an aerosol sprayer beneath the drone). This Mechanical Drone Heart has been intricately designed, with various chambers, knobs, tubes, tiny grates, and threaded protrusions for fastening attachments. Made of hard plastic and rubber. Approx. 9" x 5" x 7".
