Factory engraved SAA revolver, .45 cal., 5-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, raised carved steerhead ivory grips with ruby red eyes, #126609. This gun is in overall very good to fine condition as re-barreled and re-finished by the Colt factory in the 1950’s according to an affidavit accompanying this lot which states: “The engraved ivory gripped Colt Single Action Revolver (Serial Number 126609) was rebuilt in the 1950’s for my Grandfather John F. (Frank) Branson who lived in El Reno, Oklahoma. He had this Colt rebuilt for his personal collection. The pistol has wonderful ivory grips engraved with a steer head and ruby eyes. The barrel and cylinderare Colt factory parts from the 1950’s. The engraving was freshened and the entire revolver refinished in nickel. Signed, Robert F. Rogers”. A factory letter accompanies this Colt indicating the gun wasoriginally factory engraved and shipped to Hartley and Graham in New York on June 19, 1888, six guns in shipment with notation the gun was originally blued with rubber grips, 5-1/2” barrel and .45 caliber; the gun
