This is an example of a West Germany manufactured Crown Grade Mark V Rifle, Weatherby's best grade rifle and available on a custom order basis only. The 26 inch barrel is ported and has a factory floral scroll and punch dot engraving at the breech. The engraving is a 9 inch section with "WEATHERBY/.378 WM" marked on the left side and the West Germany marking on the right side. The factory engraving extends to the receiver, bolt assembly end, hinged floor plate, and trigger. A raised gold bear is also featured on the floorplate. The receiver has Mark V markings. The rifle is equipped with a ramp beaded blade front sight, adjustable folding leaf rear sight, and a Weatherby 2x to 7x scope with Redfield Swing-Out mounts. Jeweled fluted bolt and follower, gold washed sling swivel studs and serrated trigger, and checkered bolt handle. Mounted on an exhibition grade pistol grip stock with rosewood forend and grip cap, a contrasting diamond insert on the grip cap, a cheekpiece and a vented factory recoil pad. A fancy carved floral pattern is present on the forearm and grip area and a contrasting diamond pattern is featured on the sides of the forearm and right side of the buttstock. An additional diamond insert which incorporates a "LLOYD L. WARD JR" marked inlay appears on the underside of the forearm. Included is a Weatherby carrying case and a fancy floral tooled leather sling. The lid of the case has a "L.L.W." initial plaque.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 98% original blue finish showing some minor muzzle wear and some minor handling marks. The stock is also excellent with most of the varnish remaining and some very scattered minor handling marks. The scope has slightly hazy optics.
