This is an example of a West Germany manufactured Crown Grade Mark V Rifle, Weatherby's best grade rifle and available on a custom order basis only. The 26 inch barrel has a 9 1/2 inch section of a factory floral scroll and punch dot engraving at the breech, with the left side marked "Weatherby/.340 MAGNUM" and the right side has the West Germany marking. The factory engraving extends to the receiver, bolt assembly end, hinged floor plate and trigger guard. A raised gold bear is also present on the floor plate. The receiver has Mark V markings. The rifle is equipped with a hooded ramp front sight, adjustable folding leaf rear sight, and a Weatherby 2x to 7x scope with Redfield Swing-Out mount. Jeweled fluted bolt and follower, gold washed sling swivel studs and serrated trigger, and checkered bolt handle. Mounted on an exhibition grade pistol grip stock with rosewood forend and grip cap, a contrasting diamond insert on the grip cap, a cheekpiece and vented factory recoil pad. The stock has a contrasting diamond pattern insert on the sides of the forearm and left side of the buttstock with an additional diamond insert which incorporates a "LLOYD L. WARD JR" marked inlay on the underside of the forearm. Included is a fancy floral tooled leather sling and a Weatherby carrying case. The lid of the case has a "L.L.W." initial plaque.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 97% plus original blue finish with some loss at the muzzle, some speckling of gray on the barrel and some minor handling marks. The stock is very fine with a few minor handling marks. The scope has clear optics. Mechanically excellent.
