The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address patent dates marking, with "MODEL 1873" on the upper tang and serial number on the lower tang. No caliber marking. Set trigger and smooth forearm and straight grip stock with metal forend cap and crescent buttplate with compartment and marked with the under "8524". The included Cody Firearms research verification confirms the serial number, rifle configuration, octagon barrel, set trigger, and engraving and states that the stock was once checkered.
