This rifle has an early Weatherby marked mauser type action, with claw-extractor, that was manufactured without iron sights and no engraving on the barrel or receiver. It is marked "WEATHERBY/300 MAGNUM" on the left side at the breech with the right side marked with a circled "T". The left side of the receiver ring is marked "WEATHERBY/SOUTH GATE CALIF." with the right side marked with the serial number. Equipped with a Bausch & Lomb 2-1/2 to 8 scope with a Bausch & Lomb mount. The scroll engraved floorplate and trigger guard are gold plated with the remaining surfaces blue. In addition to the scroll engraving, the floor plate has a raised moose. Jeweled bolt and follower, serrated trigger, and checkered bolt handle. The nicely figured pistol grip stock has fancy skip line checkering on the forearm and grip area with rosewood forend and grip cap, gold plated sling swivel studs, cheekpiece and vented Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. The grip cap has a contrasting diamond insert. Contrasting diamond inserts appear on the forearm sides with an additional diamond insert which incorporates and "ERNEST M.
