Factory Engraved Savage Model 1899-F Lightweight Takedown Rifle

Manufactured between 1920 and 1941. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight, "SAVAGE HI-PRESSURE STEEL/MODEL 1899" is marked on the left side upper flat behind the rear sight and "SAV. 303" is marked on top at the breech. Serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. Blade front sight with gold bead. Rear sight dovetail and there is a Lyman receiver mounted short range peep sight. Both panels of the receiver have factory delicate scroll engraving covering most of the area. The rifle is finished blue with a casehardened lever and it is mounted with a walnut checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a serrated steel buttplate with the Savage logo on it. The forearm has a takedown mechanism on the bottom. The stock flats are also checkered along with the grip areas.

Condition: Very fine with 80% faded original blue overall. The receiver retains most of the matte blue. The case colors on the lever remain 95% intact. The wood is also very fine with a few minor dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
