Manufactured in 1904. This revolver features factory scroll engraving on the barrel and frame with a zigzag line design on the top of the ejector housing. The cylinder is engraved with simple intertwining designs, and the recoil shield and loading gate have a line and dot design. Star burst on the trigger guard and zigzag and dot designs on the top of the back strap. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "45 COLT" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial number on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. All nickel finish and fitted with pearl grips with a steer head carved on the right panel. The accompanying factory letter verifies the .45 Colt caliber, 5 1/2 inch barrel length, nickel finish and factory engraving with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 3 to H&D Folsom Arms Co., New York, N.Y. on January 21, 1904. Folsom was a Colt distributor whom most likely installed the spectacular steer head pattern carved pearl grips as was a common practice of high volume Colt distributors.
