Manufactured in 1875 this First Model Colt New Line .22 caliber revolver features factory engraving and a seven-shot cylinder with short flutes and outside locking notches. The engraving is equal to what Colt later termed level "A" engraving with scrollwork on a punch dot background. "COLT NEW 22" is acid etched in a panel on the left side of the barrel and the top of the barrel is stamped "+ COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.+." The revolver is nickel plated with a casehardened hammer and trigger and fitted with two-piece ivory bird's head grips. The full serial number is stamped on the revolver butt with the partial serial number "087" stamped on the underside of the barrel.
