Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Sterling silver post earrings feature a sun face done in turquoise, lapis, mother-of-pearl, jet and/or Onyx. From the sun face hangs an inlaid leaf that is done in yellow, mother-of-pearl, coral, jet and/or Onyx. The sun face center is approximately 7.2 mm in diameter. The leaf 7.7 mm x 15.9 mm overall length is 35.8 mm. Each earring weighs approximately 3 g for a total weight of 5.9 g. Three of the four pieces are stamped with the artist initials FSH they are not marked Sterling, but have been tested and are silver. NOTE: all measurements do not include the Silver work around the sun face and the leaf.
