BARRELS. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 5/8". S# 126809 (1903). The 30" three stripe Damascus barrels have Parker Meriden Conn. markings along with "DAMASCUS STEEL" on matted rib. Barrel flats are stamped with all correct markings. Number 2 size case hardened Parker action features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in usual attractive G style with sprays of scroll within geometric borders surrounding oval scenes of game birds; flying ducks on left and perching pheasant on right, both under "PARKER BROS.". A circular scene depicting a pair of grouse is on trigger plate. S# is on trigger guard tang. Somewhat crotch figured American walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 3/8" over Parker dogs head buttplate with spur. Multi point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant German silver shield is on toeline. Matching splinter forend with steel tip has usual Parker release stamped with patent date. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 9 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Barrels retaining approximately 90% original Damascus finish with most loss due to spotting from some splashed chemical (color loss no pitting). Action retains about 70% original color and stocks retain about 90% of original varnish worn through on high edges with a fair number of fairly deep scratches, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering shows light wear. Bores are bright and shiny without noted problems. Action is tight. Mechanically good. Rib extension shows considerable distortion on right side most likely the result of being dropped. Extension has been refitted. (23-4969/MGM). CURIO. $2,500-3,250.
