Manufactured from 1920 to 1941, however only 63 experimental/prototype units, (serial numbered 1-63), were made from 1920 to 1926 prior to regular production starting in 1926. Due to the very limited production, the Camp Perry Pistol is one of the least encountered of all Colt cartridge firearms with a total production of only about 2,525. Manufactured in 1927, this model was created by modifying an Officer's Model frame to accept a special flat single shot "cylinder". Colt named this model after the site of the U.S. Target Competition held annually at Camp Perry, Ohio. Standard "CAMP PERRY MODEL" stamped on the left side of the "cylinder". Two line address/1905 and 1926 patent dates on top of the barrel and "CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE" on the left side. Matching serial number on the crane, bottom of the breech block and left side of the frame under the grip panel and marked on the inside of each grip panel. The Colt triangle "VP" proof is marked on the lower left side of the frame ahead of the trigger, with the number "3" to the rear. Elevation adjustable front blade sight and windage adjustable rear sight. Flat top frame, checkered trigger, hammer and back strap, and fitted with checkered grips with diamond pattern around the screw and silver Colt medallions. The pair comes complete in a Hartman N.R.A. registered, (# 833), leather bound hard case with an extra 10 inch H. M. Pope barrel serial numbered "10", which would place it in the experimental/prototype range. The top of the barrel is marked "H.M. POPE" and the serial number is on the crane, and bottom of the breech block. Also in the case is a 50 count, (full), box of Palma Match .22 LR rim fire cartridges, two cleaning rods, with bore brushes, a shooting medal from the Reno Pistol Association, (1941), and numerous spare parts including three hammers with springs, two skeletonized by Houchins, three triggers, various internal parts, screws, springs, etc., three main springs, five rear sights and one Houchins front blade sight.
BBL: 10 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 22 LR
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 555
Condition: Very good. The pistol retains 90% original blue finish with some muzzle wear, thinning and wear on the upper front sides of the frame and high points of the breech block, edge wear, scattered thinning and overall scattered minor scratches and dings. The grips are good with moderate wear, a number of tiny dings on the bottoms, a few scattered minor dings and prominent checkering. The markings remain clear and crisp. The action is fine. The extra Pope barrel is excellent with 98% original blue finish with some minor muzzle wear and a small area of minor spotting on the crane. The case is good with some corner wear and fraying of the covering on the edges. The lining is very good. One of the cleaning rods is absent of it's handle, otherwise the spare parts are very good to excellent.

B) Described in " A", with "C.F.H." carved into the inside of the left grip panel, matching serial number stamped inside the right panel and a lead weight installed in the grip frame under the grips.
BBL: 10 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 22 LR
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 836
Condition: Very good. The pistol retains 85% original blue finish with some muzzle wear, thinning on the trigger guard and a smooth gray patina on the grip straps. Overall there are a few scattered minor dings and scratches. The grips are also very good with a series of small dings on the bottom of the right panel, a moderate scratch on the bottom of the left panel, a few minor dings and some wear to the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is fine. The Camp Perry is a scarcely encountered pistol, but to find a special order two gun set in a Hartman registered N.R.A. case, with an extra early experimental/prototype barrel is super rare.
