This is an excellent example of an early production cycle G43 rifle as manufactured by the BLM factory in 1944. This rifle has the scarce early features, that were carry-overs from the G41 production line, those features are: the early bolt carrier which is numbered on top, in front of the reinforcing web, the solid cocking handle, the earlier style gas system (which has the longer gas cylinder), the phenolic resin "Durofol" marked hand guard, the Waffenamt proofed and "jwh" maker marked recoil lug, the threaded muzzle nut and the front sight base that has the serrations on the back side. The left side of the receiver is marked: "G43 duv 44 eagle/214/972" and the right side has the single "eagle/214" Waffenamt proof. This rifle has been fitted with an original ZF4 scope as manufactured by the Czech firm of Opticotechna which is coded "dow", that has been fitted with one of the extremely rare early style reverse taper, rubber eye cup. The scope is marked on the left side of the scope body, "GwZF 4/dow/3009", along with an early "duv" coded scope mount. The scope mount itself is an early version that has the square ends, and which is marked with a small "eagle/214" Waffenamt proof below the serial number (1490) on the rear end that has the early style blue tensioning/tightening lever. The scope is complete with an original set of black leather lens caps. The rifle is fitted with an original wartime laminated stock and as noted above the dark brown phenolic resin hand guard. The right side of the butt stock, below the sling cut out has a double eagle WaA214 Waffenamt proof, along with a single WaA214 proof in the pistol grip area. The serial number of the rifle is correctly numbered on the underside of the stock below the pistol grip. This rifle is complete with an early blue "G43" marked magazine that has the "aye" makers code and WaA823 Waffenamt on the left side, an original WWII cross-hatched leather sling, original rubber muzzle cover, cleaning rod and sheet metal front sight cover. The buttstock trap area contains an original field manual and spare parts kit.

The stock is also very good plus with only minor handing marks and light scratches in some areas with a couple of heavier pressure dents/gouges on the underside of the forend, the lower left side of the buttstock and the area directly in front of the sling on the right side. The scope and mount both contain, 97% of the original blue finish, showing minor edge and high spot wear overall with good clear optics. The rubber eyecup is tight and intact and shows some slight age cracking on top. The leather lens caps are also in very good condition the end caps showing minor wear with excellent color while the attaching strap shows age cracking and color loss along the whole strap. The various accessories are all in the same basic excellent condition as the rifle. The rifle has all matching numbers except for the scope mount.
