This is an exceptional example of a very early production commercial unrelieved frame Model 1900 DWM Swiss Luger with German Commercial "BUG" proofmarks. The pistol has the early model toggle assembly, frame with grip safety and no stock lug. The correct checkered safety is engaged when the thumb safety lever is in the upper position and the lower safety lever position is polished bright. The pistol has a rust blue finish with straw-colored thumb safety lever, trigger, magazine catch, lock bolt, extractor and ejector. The front sight blade, connecting pins, grip screws and sear bar spring have a niter blue finish. The top of the chamber is marked with the Swiss cross and the toggle has the "DWM" monogram. The left side of the barrel extension, breech block and the toggle are marked with the "crown/B" and "U" proofmarks and the bottom of the barrel is marked with the crown over "B", "U" and "G" proofmarks as well as "172,28" over the serial number. The grips are finely checkered walnut. The magazine is tin-plated and has a wooden, unmarked, bottom piece. The lack of Swiss proofmarks is correct for early Model 1900 Swiss Luger pistols. The full serial number, "725" is located on the front of the frame and the underside of the barrel. The partial serial number, "25", is visible on the receiver lug, breech lock, both toggle links, the trigger, the right end of the lock bolt and the right side of the magazine catch. The magazine is the correct flat wood bottom variant for the unrelieved frame, which this pistol is. The rear sight has an inverted vee aperture and correctly does not have the Swiss alteration. The pistol has no Swiss markings other than the Geneva Cross on the receiver.

This is an exceptional example of a rare early production Model 1900 Swiss Luger pistol in nearly new condition. This is the finest early production DWM Model 1900 Swiss one could ever hope to find!
