Manufactured in 1868, using frames and components from the Model 1849 percussion revolver, adapted for 38 centerfire cartridge ammunition. Brass cone front and hammer notch rear sights, with the two line Hartford address on top of the barrel, the "Two July" patent dates on the left side of the frame, stamped over "COLTS", and "36 CAL" stamped over "31 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard. Matching numbers on the barrel, frame and grip straps, with a matching partial number on the Stagecoach-rolled cylinder. Fitted with a smooth one piece grip.

Condition: Excellent, with 99% of the bright high polish blue finish, showing a few small dings and a light scratch around the wedge. Case colors are brilliant and vivid. 70% original silver remains on the brass, showing a deep, antique patina. The grips are excellent plus with a very few light pressure dings. Mechanically excellent. A top condition Colt Conversion Revolver.
