Extensively Engraved, Silver Inlaid and Relief Carved Stock German Single Shot System Nimrod Schuetz
Adjustable ramp blade front sight, with the textured quarter rib expanding at the rear 10" of the barrel, thin ribs running along the edges, and silver scroll and floral inlay at the breech. Falling block receiver, with a detachable double set trigger, finger rest trigger guard/ lever with claw latch, "D.R.G.M." stamped on the left side of the block, and a fully adjustable tang mounted peep sight. Near full coverage scroll and floral engraving on the frame, with a bearded face on the trigger guard, matching pattern on the sight, a circular scene of a beer maid (Schuetzenliesl) on the left and a man with rifle and stein on the reverse. Finely carved straight wrist stock, with a carved dog's head with glass eyes on the forearm tip, raised floral designs around the receiver, checkered forearm and wrist, Tyrolean-style buttstock with Fleur-de-Lis carvings, raised contoured comb and cheekpiece, engraved buttplate with hook and a floral bordered deep carved scene of a hunter afield, with slung rifle and beer stein.

Condition: Fine, with 90% of the blue finish, showing bright edge wear and a small amount of brown patina at the muzzle. The receiver is coin finish, with some minor pitting on the sides of the locking block and some light handling marks. Stock is very good, with some chipping, pressure dents, scratches, a few small areas of white paint on the wrist and excellent carving detail. Mechanically excellent, match grade barrel and action. A very rare system Nimrod Schuetzen Rifle.
