Exquisite and mint Colt Police Positive in .32 caliber with deluxe engraving, gold and nickel plated, S/N 150608 shipped to Iver Johnson in 1919. 9 page signed letter by R.L. Wilson concludes the work to be the bestquality and most ornate example of Wilbur Glahn available at the time. He concludes the shipment to Glahn was missed by the clerk or shipped directly by Iver Johnson to Glahn when gun was new and has seen no use since.Wilson also mentions the similarities to Helfricht and Kornbraith which Glahn aspired to recreate in his work. The coverage on this revolver is a D+ exhibition grade and John R. Gangel and Larry Wilson both agreed it was a very special gun possibly intended for exhibition by Iver Johnson in its premier store located in Boston, Mass. Simply a gem in the crown of the gun engravers art that would cost $10,000 plus to duplicate attoday’s master engravers rates. (C&R) Est.: $4,000-$8,000
