Exhibition style spear point Bowie knife marked “Marsh & Bro. & Co., Sheffield” measuring 16” overall with 10-1/8” blade. The grip is made of twisted antler and shows silver pommel cap and ferrule. The crossguard is one-of-a-kind and finely shaped fine handwork and gold finish. The blade shows fancy and fine grinding with elaborate shaped patterns and nicely etched on the blade. The blade shows most of its original polish andits full dimensions with just some minor discoloration and beginning age with no sharpening. The guard shows most of its original gold gilt which is toned slightly. We would date the knife to the last quarterof the 19th century. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
