Exhibition quality spear point Bowie knife by Geo Wostenholm and Sons showing legend celebrated hunting knife, I.X.L. Washington Works Sheffield, with fancy etched blade, elaborate guard, tortoiseshell grip, Germansilver mounted original scabbard. The blade measures 11-1/2", the knife measures 17-1/2" overall, the blade 1-5/8" wide at widest point and constructed of thick stock measuring approximately 3/8" across the backedge. The blade is in very good+ to near fine condition, showing some light cleaning, full dimensions and all of its high quality etching down the center. The guard is fashioned in an elite design with grooves and serrations. The grip is tortoiseshell, in good condition with a couple areas of cracking and small losses that are minor. At least very good condition to the grip. The scabbard is also very good with a couple ofsmall losses and shows a German silver tip and throat with large button hangar.
