Exhibition quality double-barrel 12ga shotgun, by H. Faure, Le Page A Paris. Showing 29-1/2” barrels, 46” overall, exposed hammers, unusual release in front of triggerguard. 14-5/8” from the trigger to the end of the buttplate. Browned barrels, satin or French-grey finished action and mounts. Fully inlaid and ornamented stocks, highest quality engraving and ornamentation throughout. The inside of the action is dated 1877, the gun is serial #322 and shows an unusual hinged forearm which tilts downward for the release of the barrels. The gun remains in fine to excellent original condition showing 95-98% tobacco brown finish on the Damascus pattern barrels. The breeches are high relief engraved in scrolls in French-grey background and high relief gold-inlay decorations and signature. The actions are chiseled and high-relief engraved in gold accents and appointments. The hammers are beautifully chiseled in floral design with gold accents matching to the locks, barrels, and mounts. The triggerguard is chiseled and gold-inlaid in geometric designs in matching gold floral inlays and the forend latch and forend are engraved to match the triggerguard and the butt is
