Exhibition quality 1894 Winchester Carbine fully and ornately western panel scene engrave and signed by deceased master engraver Howard Dove. Serial #3524035. Dove is most well known for his ornate work onColt firearms and he contracted this rifle on special request for one of America's most recognized Colt collectors as a personal favor. The rifle shows a panel scene on the left side of the frame with Indian brave andpony being thrown by Buffalo. The rifle side shows rampaging Indian warrior swinging tomahawk on horseback with cowboy cocking his carbine. The balance of the frame is magnificently scroll engraved. The barreltubes are nicely ornamented en suite. The carbine is stocked in select burl wood that is fleur de lis checkered in a fancy pattern. The Winchester as expertly satin nickel plated at the time of engraving and showsfire-blued accent screws. This masterpiece was valued at $15,000 at the time of completion and Dove engraved Colt's have fetched up to $35,000 with less hours of work. The Colt Collector's Association so
