This is an beautiful example of a super rare, "undated" Mauser Banner Luger rig. These Commercial Contract Mauser Banner Lugers were produced from 1935 to the 1942 time frame intermixed with the various other commercial sales and Military/Police contract Lugers. Although this exceptional example is undated and carries a very early serial number, (1795 with no letter suffix) it was probably produced in late 1939, early 1940 time frame as it has all blue finish as implemented in late 1937, early "Eagle/N" proofmark used up to late 1939 and the "PO8" frame markings, also introduced in 1939. These true commercial Mauser Banner Lugers are very scarce and highly sought after by collectors, as no more than a few hundred were made through out the entire produce cycle and they all feature, excellent workmanship, with a beautiful fit and blue finish. As noted this example has the blank chamber with the "Mauser Banner" logo on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension has the "Eagle/N" Commercial proofmark on the left side of the barrel extension ahead of the serial number with "P.08" stamped on the left side of the frame. The extractor and safety are marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively, with standard sights. This beautiful pistol is fitted with one all blue milled magazine with matching base plate stamped, "1795" with no other proofs. This Luger is complete with a beautiful all brown 1940 dated commercial holster. The back is stamped "DLU/1940/PO8/WaA727".
