Exceptional Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine
This is an exceptional original example of a Winchester Model 1895 Carbine that was manufactured in 1920. The carbine has a full-blue finish with military style, oil-finished walnut stock forearm and handguard. The carbine is fitted with a military style folding leaf rear sight and military handguard and forearm with grasping grooves. The stock has a shotgun buttplate with sliding trap. A sling ring is attached to the left side of the frame. The top of the frame is stamped with the oval Winchester "W/P" proofmark and the caliber designation ".30/ARMY" in two lines. The upper barrel tang is roll-stamped: "MODEL 1895/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. U.S.PAT.OFF & FGN." in three lines. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the elongated Winchester New Haven address and "NOV.4.95."-"AUG.6.1907." patent dates in two lines. The serial number, "401443" is stamped on the lower tang behind the trigger.

Condition: Excellent plus. The carbine appears to be un-fired and is in near new condition with 99% of the original blue finish. Wear is limited to a minor cycling scuff mark on the left side of the loading lever housing and several very minor scratches on the right side of the magazine. The stock and forearm are in near new condition with no handling marks and all of the original oil-finish. The receiver markings are perfect. This is an unused example of a late production Winchester Model 1895 Carbine.
