Manufactured from 1861 to 1865. The receiver is numbered to the gun and marked with the American Machine Works, Smith's Patent and Poultney & Trimble markings on the left side. Brass blade front and folding ladder rear sights, saddle ring and bar mounted on the left side of the frame and "LFR" stamped on the left barrel flat at the breech. Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock with a "JH" script cartouche on the left side of the wrist and a carbine buttplate.

Condition: Excellent. The carbine retains 97% original blue finish showing some minor thinning. The frame and hammer retain 90% plus original case colors with some fading of the hammer. The wood is also excellent with a few minor handling marks. The cartouche is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
