Manufactured in 1945. The pistol has the Colt "Parco-Lubrite" finish introduced in 1945, full blue barrel, checkered oil finished walnut grips with nickel silver Rampant Colt medallions and full blue eight shot magazine. The slide has the late flat top rear sight and wide ramp front sight with serrated face. The right side of the frame is roll stamped "U.S. PROPERTY". The serial number, "571930" is roll stamped on the left side of the frame above the trigger. The Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark is stamped on the upper left corner of the trigger guard bow and a "4" assembler's mark is stamped on the lower left corner. The Ordnance escutcheon acceptance mark is lightly stamped on the left side of the frame behind the slide lock. The right side of the slide is roll stamped "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" in two lines below the ejection port. The elongated two-line Hartford address and 1897 and 1903 patent dates are roll stamped on the left side of the slide and the Rampant Colt is stamped behind the serrations. The bottom of the magazine floor plate is stamped "CAL 32/COLT". The pistol is complete with a General Officer's black leather open top holster with gold plated brass fittings. Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original Colt Parco-Lubrite finish. Wear is limited to some very minor handling and storage marks and several light scratches on the left side of the frame. The replacement barrel and magazine retain 98% of the blue finish. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering and show only very limited storage wear. The holster is very good. The holster belt loop and closure strap show flexing and minor flaking and the body has some minor scratches and a few flex marks. This is an excellent original example of a popular and widely issued WWII U.S. Colt model 1903 Hammerless .32 Automatic Pistol.
