Manufactured in 1947. The serial number falls into the Transition period (late 1945 to 1951) when the .35 Remington caliber was introduced and offered for a short time before being discontinued. Standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the left side of the receiver and barrel at the breech. Equipped with a hooded ramp front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight with the receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting. The rifle has a transition safety that was designed to accommodate the installation of telescopic sights without interference and was positioned so that the fire position was attained by rotating the lever forward in a counter-clockwise movement. The polished bolt is numbered to the gun. The straight comb pistol grip stock features checkering on the grip area and forearm, sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate. With the rifle is the original Winchester box numbered to gun, hanging tag and instructions. Where else would you find another 35 Rem Carbine in the factory box?
