Exceptional Chicago Palm Protector Pistol with Rare Ivory Grips and Original Picture Box
Produced in the mid-1890s, using a radial cylinder and a double action squeeze trigger. Floral engraving around barrel and right side edge of the frame, with checkering on the left side panel. Marked on the right side plate "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO./ CHICAGO. ILL." and on the left side "THE PROTECTOR/ PAT. MCH. 6, 83. AUG. 29. 93.". Fitted with a pair of factory smooth ivory panels on either side of the frame and a contoured ivory grip segment on the trigger. Matching numbers on the frame, cylinder and side plate. With a wood grain cardboard box with "IMPROVED PROTECTOR" markings on the lid and instructions for use inside the lid.
