These matching Third Model Derringers are the Second Variation with the large "-COLT-" marked on top of the barrel and the matching serial number is marked on the left side of the frame under the grip, bottom of the barrel and marked in pencil on the inside of each grip panel. The underside of the barrel is marked with a "crown/V" and "crown/GP" British proofmark. High hammer spur, blade front sight, nickel finish with niter blue hammer and trigger, and fitted with smooth ivory grips. The pair are complete in a wooden case with brass inset disk on the lid and blue velvet lining with "Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Cio / 14 Pall Mall, S.W. / London" label affixed to the inside of the lid.

Condition: Excellent. The Derringer retains 98% original nickel finish with some minor flaking on the muzzle and lower left side of the barrel. The hammer retains 95% original case colors and the trigger retains 85% original firey niter blue finish. The grips are excellent with a very attractive aged patina. The barrel marking is crisp. The action is excellent. The case is very good with a few minor dents on the exterior and some contact wear and staining of the lining and lid label. There are two small tears in the lining of one side of the case from contact with a front sight blade.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original nickel finish, with some very minor flaking on the left side of the barrel. The hammer retains 90% of the original casehardened finish and the trigger retains 85% of the fiery niter blue. The ivory grips are excellent with a very attractive age patina. The barrel markings and proofs are sharp. The action is excellent. This is a scarce pair of London Agency cased Colt Third Model Derringers in excellent condition.
