This unique and masterfully engraved and gold inlaid revolver is finished in Colt Royal blue with a gold plated cylinder pin, trigger guard and back strap. This revolver was shipped in 1982 from the Colt Custom Gun Shop and is 1 of 35 Custom Edition Sheriffs Models. This example was engraved by Colt Master Engraver George Spring. The factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, royal blue finish with gold plating as described above and Fleur-de-Lis checkered ivory grips. The letter states that the Class "A" engraving with gold inlay was done by Colt Master Engraver George Spring. The revolver was shipped with the included case on order 1842 on May 21, 1982 to Howco Distributors Inc., Laurel, Maryland. As stated this revolver features an extensive coverage, "A" custom scroll engraving with gold inlaid borders. The top of the barrel is marked with a special two line abbreviated address, the left side of the barrel is marked "COLT SHERIFFS MODEL .45" in gold inlaid with a gold inlaid border. Both sides of the frame at the front have a gold inlaid triangle with a geometric pattern inside and scroll around them. The top strap is scroll engraved with gold borders on each side. The front sight is engraved as well as the hammer which also features a gold flush border. The cylinder has a gold inlaid band around the rear and flush gold Fleur-de-Lis on each chamber. The Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame is gold inlaid as is the serial number "29-35/SHERIFF" on the frame. Gold border on the frame and "1 of 35" in flush gold inlaid on the right side. Raised old antique handcuff motif with gold border on the loading gate and a raised gold six point Sheriffs badge on the recoil shield. The bottom of the trigger guard, butt and top and bottom of the back strap are also scroll engraved. George Spring has signed the revolver on the butt under the left grip panel. The grips are numbered to the gun. It has a distinctive 3 1/2 inch barrel and no provision for the ejector. Complete with a very rare walnut "roll top desk" display case with wine velvet lining and a six point gold plated Sheriffs badge.
