Estimate: $10000 - 16000
This is an exceptional example of a late pattern Winchester high Wall Schuetzen style off-hand target rifle that has been fitted with a Winchester A5 target scope. This rifle was manufactured some time after 1915, however the specific date cannot be determined as the Winchester records don't identify it. This rifle is fitted with a 30 inch full octagon, #4 heavy weight target barrel, that has the standard two line factory markings of "MANUFACTURED BY THE/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.", and caliber "32-40" markings both offset to the side of the barrel. To allow the mounting of the scope block directly on the top flat of the barrel. The Winchester firing proofs are directly in front of the rear scope base. The barrel is fitted with a Winchester pattern globe front sight, that is adjustable for windage only. The rear sight dovetail has been filled in with an unmarked blank plate and the rifle is currently fitted with a tang mounted, Winchester pattern, mid-range vernier target peep sight. It has been fitted with a standard Winchester A5 telescopic sight with standard Winchester mounts. It has the standard double set triggers, with the late Winchester pattern double curl loading lever with a double prong all blued buttplate. The rifle is fitted with a late pattern deluxe checkered pistol grip stock with the later cheekpiece with the double shadow line and Helm buttplate. It has a matching forend that also features a fancy deluxe walnut forend with checkering on both side with the ebony insert in the tip of the Schnabel.

The scope retails 95% of its blued finish with clear optics that are a little cloudy and might need a good cleaning. The stock and forend are both in very good condition as revarnished, showing minimal handling marks overall, with excellent figure and nice checkering overall. The sides of the upper and lower receiver tangs and inside the forend and buttplate are all unnumbered. An excellent example of a late production Winchester Schuetzen pattern High Wall single shot target rifle.
