Excellent and Desirable Minneapolis Firearms Protector Palm Pistol

This is one of an estimated 3,000 palm pistols manufactured from 1891 to 1892. Actual production was by James Duckworth of Springfield, Massachusetts. Marked "PATENTED/MARCH 6, 1883" in a circle on the frame and marked "THE PROTECTOR/MINN. FIRE ARMS CO" on the side plate. There are checkered hard rubber panels with a smooth squeeze grip.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 97% plus original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina where the finish has flaked. The hard rubber is fine showing a few areas of re-cut checkering. Mechanically fine.
